As announced by LMU Munich and at the M-Phi blog, Stephan Hartmann, philosopher of science at Tilburg University, has accepted a senior appointment at the LMU in Munich combined with a prestigious Alexander-von-Humboldt Professorship funded by the Humboldt Foundation. This is the second Humboldt Professorship in philosophy for the LMU, after Hannes Leitgeb. To point out the obvious, within the space of just two years, Munich has emerged as one of the major centers of philosophy of science on the continent.
