How to post

If you have an upcoming event (conferences, workshops, summer schools, etc), or have an open position (faculty position, postdoc, PhD fellowship, etc), or any other announcement of interest to philosophers of physics, you are welcome to send it to me and if it is pertinent, I will be happy to publish it.

However, I have spent way too much time in the past editing texts of announcements other people have sent me. So here are some rules I am asking people to adhere to:

  • Please send me the text in plain text format, not as a PDF or word file. It is easiest if you just include the plain text in the body of an email.
  • The text should be plain, no fancy fonts, underlining text, different text sizes etc. The only exception are links to your website for the full announcement of the job ad or the conference. These should be links.
  • I will not add media like conference posters or PDFs of jobs ads. Please create your own website, and include a link to it.
  • Please add a title, using the standard format I use for job ads, conference announcements, etc, used on this blog.

I do reserve the right to edit the text you send me. In the few cases in tend to make edits other than cosmetic ones, it is usually to shorten the post and avoid repeating too much information which can be found on your website or which seems irrelevant for the job ad or conference announcement.
