The Center for Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for Fellowships supporting visits in the Center for a term or an academic year during the year 2020-2021. For details, visit the Center Website, www.pitt.edu/~pittcntr.
The Center is pleased to announce that Nick Huggett will be the Senior Visiting Fellow for the academic year September 2020 – April 2021. We encourage applications for Postdoctoral and Visiting Fellowships from scholars whose research intersects with Professor Huggett’s.
In particular, one postdoc may be in the philosophy of cosmology, of quantum gravity, or of spacetime theories:
Postdoctoral Fellows Program
Postdoctoral Fellowships enable philosophers of science within five years of their doctorates to spend a two-term academic year working in the Center for Philosophy of Science on a project in philosophy of science that they nominate. Two Postdoctoral Fellowships are offered each year.
For one of the two postdoc positions, in connection with the Senior Fellowship at the Center of LAS Distinguished Professor Nick Huggett, we are particularly interested in philosophers working in the philosophy of cosmology, on quantum theories of gravity, or on the foundations of spacetime theories. There is the possibility of renewal for a second year, at the University of Illinois at Chicago, for candidates pursuing research on those topics.
The Center encourages applications from assistant professors in the early stages of their careers as well as from scholars with newly awarded doctorates. We particularly welcome submissions from members of underrepresented groups.
