The Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method seeks applications for an exciting fellowship position in philosophy of physics.

The LSE Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method seeks applications for a 1 year LSE Fellowship in Philosophy, which has the potential to be extended by 1–2 further years subject to performance and funding availability. The post will begin 3 September 2018, at a salary of £34,736 plus pension benefits. The area of specialty is philosophy of physics.

The successful applicant will participate in research, teaching and undergraduate advising, with a teaching load appropriate for an early-career faculty member at LSE. Fellows are also encouraged to take full advantage of the Department’s vibrant philosophy of science research environment and resources, including the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science.

The Department has teaching needs in philosophy of physics, and in particular for the Einstein for Everyone and Physics and the City courses, although the ability to teach in further areas is also desirable. The successful candidate will show an excellent research record in the philosophy of physics, and display evidence of outstanding teaching abilities, including the ability to teach broadly in the philosophy of physics at a level that is accessible to undergraduates at LSE. Candidates should also have a relevant PhD at the time of appointment and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
